Hi!
I'm Heather Pierson. My most recent roles were graphic designer, digital publication editor, and communications and content manager in Houston. For nearly 13 years, I worked in one of the nation's leading institutions in cardiovascular care, research, and education and provided professional graphic design services for the public and in-house clients.
With an incredible gift for attention to detail, executing projects on time, creative leadership and understanding complex subject matter regarding medicine, basic and translational medical research, I proved to be trusted with significant local, regional, and national collaborations.
One of my most remarkable achievements was my contribution to The Texas Heart Institute Center for Cardiovascular Care's patient engagement campaigns and marketing collateral, elevating the center's reputation and resulting in a 50% new patient growth.
When I have a moment to myself, I thoroughly enjoy freehand drawing and working on detailed needlepoint kits -- specifically cute Christmas stockings for my kids!
My Story
My professional journey of where I am today began in 2005 when I became News Editor of my 4-year college newspaper. One year later, I received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism and minor in English. Fast forward to 2010 when creativity sparked my interest, and I decided to pursue a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Digital Media Studies. In 2013, I learned that in order to complete my degree, one of the options was to do an internship. Therefore, I chose The Texas Heart Institute, and gained invaluable experience for the next 12 years.
Combined with my intellectual curiosity, a willingness to learn, and being highly reliable, I have a proven track record of success.
